Hours of Operation
     The daylight hours are shrinking, and this affects our opening and closing hours.  The golf shop opens for play daily at 8:00, and closes 2 hours before sunset.  For the next few days, the golf shop is closing around 5:50.  That is the last time we will allow carts out for play.

Twilight Golf Time Moved Earlier
     As many of you know, we have a daily twilight rate of $16.00 during the week and $19.00 during the weekend. That is for 18 holes with cart, per person.  Our summer time for twilight rates to begin has been 4:00.  Now that daylight is ending earlier, we are moving that time to 3:00.  It is difficult to get 18 holes in after 4:00, so we have moved it to 3.   That extra hour will allow you to get in 18 holes.

First 2 Man Scramble a Big Success
    On Sunday, the 25th, 16  2 man teams squared off for an 18 hole scramble.  This event had a bit of a twist and all players seemed to really enjoy it. There were no flights, no handicaps, and the ball had to be played "down' if the shot chosen to use was not in the fairway of the hole they were playing.   The entry fee was only $45.00, with $25 going back into the players purse.   All the feedback was positive and have asked us to do more. So the next event will be October 16th, at 9:30 A.M.
      The winning team of the first one was Ray Meade Jr. and his partner Tommy Robinson.  They fired a smooth 11 under par and won $400. Hot on their heels was Rick Adkins and his partner James Galusha at -10 and cashed out at $240.   And in third place was Adam Carroll and Justin Boyd, -8.  That was worth $160.

The Weather is cooperating for the middle of winter.  We are open daily at around 10:00, so make plans to get head of the spring golf.  March is just around the corner.

Where Golfers Feel at Home with Their Game

We like to think that Sandy Creek Golf Course is the Tri-State's most golfer friendly course.  It is a place where you can have a great time, pay a fair price and not spend the entire day traveling around our 18 holes.  But more, this is a place where you will get a warm welcome and the ultimate in friendly service from our staff.

Although our layout is shorter than some local courses, plenty of excitement awaits you out here at Sandy Creek.  We are bordered by the East Fork of the Little Sandy River.  So get ready for some adventures with water.  The greens are small and sometimes sneaky.  Even when some of the best local amateurs have held tournaments here, low scoring was at a minimum.  Just when you think you have got a birdie going, you may have to think again.  So get ready to exercise your best strategy and accuracy or you will be replaying favorite holes in your mind for hours.

This is also a course where beginners can find their game and grow to love golf with a passion.  We have poured energy into introducing youngsters and all members of the family to our great game.  No matter what your skills, we invite you to come out and give our course a try.  Ask about our lesson plans as well.

Are you looking for a place to simply spend a calm summer evening working on your game?  Do you like the idea of a steady competition against your buddies?  Do you have children you are eager to spend some time with?  Those are some of the things we see happen here at Sandy Creek.  We pride ourselves in attracting golfers for their different reasons.  It is not uncommon to hear from our customers they recognize there are other places they could play, but they "just like it here".  As Ron Charles from Dallas, Texas told us;

"...this is the best value I have ever had playing golf."

Sandy Creek is also a golfer friendly place to have your next outing or tournament whether it is for a business, non-profit group or a family or friendly get-together.  We are conveniently located for players coming from Ohio and West Virginia as well as Kentucky..
